Transcending Time, Yet Living Fully in Time
There are many adages or cliches that emphasize the importance of time. They are inclusive of:
Make the most of the time
Time waits for no man
Redeem the time
Opportunity comes but once.
None of the four adages or cliches enumerated above can be deemed inviolate.
Consider, ‘make the most of the time’. Under one interpretation, we could rather, erroneously, not take the time to just lay back and enjoy nature, or as some say, “not take the time to just lay back and smell the roses”. We could also, rather erroneously not take the time to ponder and appreciate God, that is, the notion of a Beneficent Creator. In essence, we could end up so busy we are unable to enjoy the time. In stated respect, consider Luke 10:38–42, RSV.
