Just hearing the name for the first time. Will look him up. For me, Francis Schaeffer probably has been the most influential Christian writer in my life. My book starts where his True Spirituality stops.
True spirituality focuses on the fact that our faith is supposed to activate all of the benefits Jesus secured for us via His ministry here on earth and intercessory ministry in heaven. He emphasizes how the benefits do not materialize by magic, how it is we have to acquire the benefits by faith, that is, in our mind and actions. He focuses on getting us to latch our faith onto spiritual realities inherent in person, life, and teachings of Jesus Christ.
My book focuses on importance of application of faith to acquisition of, and development of capacity for walking in love here on earth. I focus on how we leverage on those spiritual realities for acquisition and development of God’s love quality. Since love that has quality of God’s character is the goal of faith (Ephesians 3:14–21), understanding how to acquire and grow in love is critical for a successful Christian walk.
While I say ‘I’, given I never pre-planned to write any such book, and given I began to write only when the Holy Spirit sowed the seed of the project into my heart — inspired me to document what He had taught me over the years, which I had lived to the best of my understanding and in context of grace already acquired— all of what I write ultimately is inspired by the Holy Spirit.
