Love is Supposed to Grow with Knowledge of Truth

It is true that God cares more about our actions than our beliefs. In fact, right beliefs plus wrong (unloving) attitudes and actions generate an 'I never knew you' from Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21–23).

Consider, however, that absent discovery of the law of gravity (Newton), it is the case perhaps that there is not arrival at discovery of the law of relativity (Einstein). So then, mankind remains as little children on the planet Earth, never progressing in knowledge of their physical universe.

The preceding analogy applies in spirituality. To put it simply and frankly, if knowing the truth of God does not have any practical or pragmatic impact on our spirituality and capacity for navigation of whatever it is life throws at us, then God would be a fraud.

I know personally, however, that every new truth of God that I have discovered has had practical and pragmatic benefits for living of life here in Earth.

This is essence of the promise from Jesus that:

“If ye may remain in my word, truly my disciples ye are, and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31–32).”

If we believe that God is, and that He desires to be known and to know us, we must believe that arrival at, and progression in truth are important, for else we are no more than babes peering superstitiously into the realm of the spiritual, yet never in fact entering in.

We should aspire to concretize truths at which we have arrived, but only in relation to Jesus Christ.

The problem with Creeds is that they focus on organizations. I never again in my life will pledge allegiance via baptism or otherwise to any Christian Denomination. I know better, for their Creeds point only to them, not to Jesus Christ.

When we concretize truth at which we have arrived, but only in relation to our Lord Jesus Christ, there is not any man or organization in the middle interfering, and the truth is relationship focused — guides us in our relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

You see then that truth is not inimical to a focus on relationship.

The problem? All around us suggests truth is incompatible with love, and Christians who are disillusioned with denominational Church are allowing themselves to be deceived by this device of the devil. When you attend one Church and there seems to be truth, but no love, and in yet another people are profuse in their love, yet care nothing for the truth, this is nothing but infiltration of the enemy into denominational Church.

Personally, I have found my capacity for love to increase with my knowledge of truth of God. If 'I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life' is not bogus, and it is not, this exactly is what we should expect, that is, our Life, as such our Love, increases with our grasp of Truth, and our progress along the Way.

Truth is important. All that is required is that it be arrived at in Love.
