What I was pointing out is that Hillary jumped on the Bernie idea because she had run out of ideas and needed something, anything like the crazy “free college education” idea to generate some energy in her campaign. What is not so obvious perhaps is the psychological toll the filing in through metal detectors everyday constraint takes on the students. It is perhaps worth examining how well kids in those inner city schools do on the SATs relative to kids in inner city schools which do not have such metal door mechanisms for prevention of gun violence. I dare say the gun violence they seek to prevent is more of the business (drugs and crime) induced type than the random or targeted psychological type.
