Eleven years ago, specifically in 2013, Edward Snowden, a CIA contractor revealed documents which implicated that the USA’s National Security Agency (NSA) had, for upwards of 10 years, been listening on the erstwhile German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conversations with other world leaders on her phone.
