“In various ways the well-being of each rises and falls with the well-being of all. . . . Each has a private interest in public morals, and profits by improving them. . . . Personal well-being depends in large measure on the well-being of society.”
Alex the Younger
I make a similar point in two Medium articles I titled, “Saving Our Own Lives” and “The Humble Die”. One would hope that groundswell of voices calling us to morality or ethics and what you have referred to as Mutualism will be heard and help us regain rationality that increasingly seems degraded and lost. Since Mutualism must become part of our ethos, it must of necessity be part of our spirituality. The world we live in is sick, nature as evident in all of its distorted permutations concurring. Many, however, are so caught up in themselves they either do not discern or do not care.
