I like use of the word ‘alignment’. Since everyone aligns, alignment boils down to cooperation, with everyone in agreement as to objective of cooperation. The problem in some organizations is top management demands everyone outside of their inner circle align while they and their inner circle remain free to do whatever it is they want. Demand for alignment in this case is nothing but inner workings of a dysfunctional political entity. Whenever business organizations are defined more by workplace politics than alignment relative to business objectives, it may take some time but dysfunction eventually becomes apparent.
