I have an article titled, Work and Life, which addresses the issue of balance in life. I also have an article titled, The Wellspring of Life which addresses the notion of wanting more in life.
That being said, using imagery in your post, mountains are made up of inclines and intermediate mini plateaus — crags or nooks or level ground, however small in or on which a climber can rest prior to arrival at the top of a mountain.
If we are to remain thankful yet restless for more, we need to appreciate the crags, nooks, and level ground as much as we appreciate inclines.
