How does a ‘Sinless Son’ require Perfection? Resolving a Seeming Contradiction
There exist two complementary intellectual boundaries to pursuit of meaningful and pragmatic ‘daily life impacting’ spirituality (if spirituality consists solely in attendance at ‘gatherings of the faithful’, it has characterization as ‘crowd mentality’. Given the crowd does not, in of itself, reside in realm of the spiritual — God’s realm — the term, spirituality acquires character of a misnomer).
The first principle? Spirituality must be rooted in Rationality.
Illustration: Jesus came to save the world from sin (Matthew 1:21). Rationality? The world is filled with sin (just listen to the evening news), as such could use a Savior. What did Jesus promise to those who receive Him? Power to live without committing sin (1 John 5:18) — overcoming power available through sprinkling with His blood and sanctification of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:1–2).
How do we rid gold of impurities? By sprinkling it with solvents (the ‘blood of Jesus’ as equivalent for sin), then dissolving out the impurities using fire (on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit symbolizes Himself as ‘tongues of fire’ — Acts 2:1–4).
